I’ve intended to blog about the first run of the Spiritual Nomad course for weeks, but as you know, this has been a very weird first quarter of the year and my sense of time has become as slippery as an eel lately.
Next week is the last week of the course, and as far as I can tell it’s going well. *laugh* After it’s over I plan to gather people’s opinions, but in the meantime, here are just a small handful of the students who are blogging about their experiences:
Tigerlily Cottage
Finding God…again
Sô ni arazu, zoku ni arazu
Wanderlust Heart
Blogging the Wheel
Athena Grey
Wings of Flight
Journeying to the Goddess
The really cool thing about this first group of Nomads is their diversity – there are people from all kinds of religious backgrounds, from Christian to Pagan to Druid to Buddhist. It’s interesting, looking at their blogs, seeing all the different takes on the material: some folks have issues about certain subjects but happily embrace others. Yet everyone’s approach is thoughtful and open-minded, as I would expect from such a smart group.
After the course has run and I’ve had time to adjust anything that I feel needs work, I’ll most likely set up to run it again; I can’t give you an exact date, because with my new book coming out I’m a bit on the busy side right now, but it’ll be sooner rather than later.
I’m also considering creating a message board for Nomads – current students as well as those who’ve already taken the course – where everyone can exchange ideas and experiences (or just gab); it seems like in the long run it would work better for everyone than Facebook groups, since I either have to start a new one every time I run the course or just throw everyone into one big group. I think some kind of forum would allow for more organized topics, but I haven’t made a definitive decision on that just yet.
