All of the recipes in this section are vegan (except where noted), but that doesn’t necessarily make them healthy or low fat. Oil has the same number of calories per serving whether it comes from a soybean or the rendered butt of a pig.

The recipes are, however, cruelty-free to the greatest extent possible, which means no meat, dairy, eggs, or honey.  A couple of small things (like the star decorations in the image to the left) are not entirely vegan, but I only did that in cases where the nonvegan alternatives were unavailable or the nonvegan elements were removable.

I’m a terrible photographer, so most of the images in this section are either going to be fairly ugly or taken by someone else.  The recipes themselves, however, are mostly adaptations from cookbooks that I tweaked and wrestled with until they were my own.  A few are purely original, but even those that came from books have been altered pretty substantially because I simply can’t leave well enough alone.
